In June 2013 members of the Saguaro Astronomy Club will
present a special star party to guests at the Kaibab Lodge. These astronomers
have presented star parties and star talks to thousands of
members
of
the public
all over the United States (and Australia), and particularly enjoy
showcasing the summer Milky Way in pristine dark sky settings like
the Kaibab Lodge.
Stargazing will begin when it is dark. If you bring flashlights,
remember to always point them down, and cup your hand over the light
to protect your night vision and that of those around you. It is
amazing how little flashlight you need when the stars are out. The
lights affect your night vision and your star gazing potential. Special
red tape (automotive lens repair tape) will be available to place
on your flashlight if you wish.
